Senior Volunteer Docent Program

Senior docents take a vital role in the visitor experience at our museums and support to engage, inspire, and instill a sense of wonder and discovery in science, history, society and culture. In addition to greeting guests, sharing information, working the front desk, and giving the occasional tour, Senior Docents serve as mentors to our student docents.

Research Collections Support

Some volunteer opportunities exist in our Research Collections department. Work here consists of cataloging, documenting, or supporting the preservation of historic object and specimens in collections.

Other

There are sometimes opportunities for volunteer work with other members of our staff including communications, education, and research or writing. This work is based on our staff ability and your skillset. If you have something in mind, let us know.
